When I first learned “atheist prayer” I figured the best way to improve things for the better was to spread wide my prayers. Instead of praying for my coworker, I pray for all people in his position.
I learned that sometime around April 2017, I believe, and lately my friends that have been in need of prayer directly. I have friends in need of prayer, but I’m not taking my own advise.
I’ve prayed for my friend with headaches, my friend with ailments, and my friend with a mysterious stomach bug. I’ve prayed directly for them, not people in their positions.
It’s a difficult task, to pray to the wind. I love my friends, so I guess I’m a bit stubborn even against my own beliefs.
